Pastoral Stories

Stories presents field-based observations from pastoral landscapes, combining photography, mapping and local knowledge. Each story documents everyday practices of grazing, movement and settlement, revealing how pastoral systems shape landscapes through time. Rather than representation, these narratives function as a visual archive of ecological processes and cultural practices across different geographies. They trace the relationships between humans, animals and environments, highlighting how landscapes are continuously produced through interaction, adaptation and memory.

Through a more-than-human perspective, the stories shift attention from static images to dynamic systems, where movement, behavior and spatial patterns become central to understanding the landscape. Photography is used not as an end in itself, but as a method of observation and documentation within a broader field-based research practice.
